Everything you need to know about our Counselling & Psychology fees & rebates

Counselling Fees

Service Fees may vary according to preferred practitioner and type of counselling required. Please confirm Service fee and eligibility prior to booking.

Medicare Rebates are NOT applicable to counselling or couple’s sessions.

Private Health Rebates

Please note – NOT all our Counsellors hold Providers Numbers for Private Health Insurance Claims.

You will need to confirm with your Private Health Insurance if Counselling Services are eligible for rebates and are dependent on your level of cover.

Please contact Wellness & Co. Counselling & Psychology directly if you wish to use your Private Health Insurance to assess eligibility to make claims.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Book, Attend, and Pay: Schedule and attend your counselling session, then pay the full fee directly to Wellness & Co. Counselling & Psychology.
  2. Obtain Your Receipt: After your session, you will receive a receipt. This receipt is crucial as it contains the necessary provider number and item number for your claim. (You will need to request a customised receipt from Wellness & Co. Counselling & Psychology that includes the provider number of your treating Counsellor that is relevant to your Private Health Insurer).
  3. Claim Your Rebate: You can claim your rebate using your Private Health Insurance Account. Please contact your Private Health Insurance on instructions on how to make your claims.

  • Private Health Insurance claims vary on the amounts they offer to cover counselling services and is dependent on your level of cover.

  • Confirm if your preferred counsellor holds a relevant provider number with your Private Health Insurance company.

Psychology Fees

Claiming Your Medicare Rebate for Mental Health Services

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan and are receiving psychological services, you can claim a Medicare rebate to help cover the costs. You will need to provide a copy of your Mental Health Care Plan to Wellness & Co. Counselling & Psychology via email to admin@wellnessandco.com.au

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Book, Attend, and Pay: Schedule and attend your psychology session, then pay the full fee directly to Wellness & Co. Counselling & Psychology.
  2. Obtain Your Receipt: After your session, you will receive a receipt. This receipt is crucial as it contains the necessary provider number and item number for your claim.
  3. Claim Your Rebate: You can claim your rebate using your Medicare Account or the Medicare App. For detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to submit your claim, you can visit the official Services Australia website: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-claims?context=60092

Key Information:

  • Eligible individuals can receive up to 10 subsidized individual and 10 subsidized group psychology sessions per calendar year under the Better Access program.
  • Wellness & Co. Counselling & Psychology allows claims of $98.95 per psychology session from Medicare (note: this is not applicable to counselling sessions).
  • To obtain a Mental Health Care Plan, you need an extended appointment with your GP. After 6 sessions, your psychologist can update your GP, and you’ll need another GP session to review your progress and request to receive the additional 4 sessions.

Cancellation Fees

Late Cancellations and No Shows:

  • STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT: Wellness &Co. Counselling & Psychology operates strictly by appointment only. Appointments are reserved specifically for you.
  • DEPOSITS: A 50% deposit is required to reserve each future appointment.
  • NOTICE PERIOD: 4 DAYS
  • LATE CANCELLATIONS: A late cancellation attracts the FULL Service Fee. A late cancellation is defined as providing less than four (4) days’ notice of all cancellations and reschedules.
  • NO SHOWS: Attracts the FULL Service Fee
  • LATENESS: If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment this will be considered as a no show and the full fee will apply.
  • OVERTIME: Sessions that go over the 50 minutes may incur a fee which is calculated at 25% of the Service fee for every 15 minutes over.
  • LATE PAYMENTS: Late payments will incur a late payment fee of $25 for every day the payment is late. All final payments are required at the time of appointment booked.
  • GOOD WILL ACT: Late cancellation fees may be waived as a once off good will act when there is sufficient notification of the late cancellation that is within the 4-day notice period. (Does not include no shows or cancellations on the day) This can be defined when there is justifiable reason that cannot be avoided for the cancellation. Fees that are waived are at the discretion of your treating practitioner and needs their approval.

Holiday Closure Notice
